39th Annual Spiritual & Religious Show
October 15, 2025 – January 7, 2026
The Springville Museum of Art invites all Utah artists to enter this exhibition which celebrates the diversity of religious experience and belief in our community. Using different media to express these ideas, artist create works that will engage and inspire viewers to contemplate and reflect on the vibrant spiritual traditions we share.

Art Pickup Policy
All artwork will be considered on temporary loan to the Springville Museum of Art (SMA) from date of entry, through the duration of the exhibition, until final pickup date listed below. Due to increased numbers of art submissions, artists must pick up all pieces from the Museum within the time frame specified here:
- Thursday January 8 - Saturday January 10, 2026, 10:00am–5:00pm
Upon entering the show, the artist or representative acknowledges that any works not picked up by the dates specified above will be subject to a storage fee of $5/day. Artwork NOT picked up between these dates will be subject to a $5 handling fee. *Any exceptions to these dates must be arranged in advance with SMA Curatorial Staff by emailing kkimball@springville.org. Storage and Handling fees will be waived if arrangements are made in advance with the SMA curatorial staff. After six months, any unclaimed artworks may be divested as SMA sees fit. Only the artist and those listed on the Online Entry Form as “Persons approved to pick up work” may take any art from the Museum.

Jury Process
This exhibition is juried in conjunction with the SMA curatorial staff.
This year's jurors will be Dr. Aaron Rosen, Director and Founder of The Parsonage, Director of The Clemente Course in the Humanities, and author of several texts including Art and Religion in the 21st Century (Thames & Hudson, 2015; pbk 2016) and Maddie Blonquist, Roy & Carol Christensen Curator of Religious Art at the BYU Museum of Art.

Aaron Rosen, PhD is a writer, curator, and non-profit leader, respected internationally for his work in the public humanities, interfaith dialogue, and the arts. He is Executive Director of The Clemente Course in the Humanities, a national non-profit delivering transformative, free college courses to underserved communities.
Dr. Rosen is also Visiting Professor of Sacred Traditions & the Arts at King’s College London, where he taught previously. He served as Director of the Henry Luce III Center for the Arts and Religion in Washington, DC and began his career as a fellow at Yale, Oxford, and Columbia Universities. He received his PhD from the University of Cambridge.
Rosen has curated dozens of exhibitions and is founding director of the not-for-profit Parsonage Gallery in Maine. He is the author or editor of a dozen books, including What Would Jesus See?, Art & Religion in the 21st Century, and Journey through Art.

Maddie Blonquist works primarily with religious art objects within the MOA's collection. In 2018, she graduated from Brigham Young University with degrees in Music and Interdisciplinary Humanities and went on to receive an M.A.R. in Visual Arts and Material Culture from Yale Divinity School. At Yale University, she completed program requirements through the Institute of Sacred Music and earned a certificate in Public Humanities with an emphasis on Museums and Collections.
Maddie has worked at numerous art institutions, most recently the Yale University Art Gallery, Utah Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Brigham Young University Museum of Art. She is passionate about collaboration, arts accessibility, and museum studies—all interests that have led her to a career in art curation, education, and publication.
Awards, Purchases, and Sales
Artworks from the exhibition will be selected for cash and/or purchase awards. Awards are determined by jurors and curators. SMA retains a 30% commission on all art sales during the exhibition. Please price your work accordingly, coordinating with galleries if necessary. SMA staff will not set prices for artists. Prices cannot be changed after works have been dropped off and entry forms signed. Artwork will be sold as is, including any frames, pedestals, or other display supports provided by the artist.
