 38th Annual Spiritual & Religious Art of Utah

October 16, 2024 – January 8, 2025

The Springville Museum of Art invites all Utah artists to enter this exhibition which celebrates the diversity of religious experience and belief in our community. Using different media to express these ideas, artist create works that will engage and inspire viewers to contemplate and reflect on the vibrant spiritual traditions we share.


 

Salon 100: A Retrospective of 100 Spring Salons and the Students that Built Art City!

Salon 100 will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Spring Salon and share its impact and history! The Salon was started by Springville High School students in the 1920s. They hung the first shows in the halls of their high school until they were so well known for their art, the Springville community built them a museum! Our historic commemoration will celebrate these students and imagine the future of the Salon through exhibitions, a documentary film, publications, and special programs and lectures.

Artist & Academy: Highlights from the Soviet Collection

February 1, 2023 - Ongoing

In the art institutes of the Soviet Union, artists were influenced by traditional academic curriculum, styles from previous movements like Realism, Impressionism, and Post-Impressionism, and their own lived and varied experiences. Encouraged to use this depth of training and experience, the artists pushed each other to not rely on past themes, but find new subject matter and a new perceptions of reality. 

 

New Acquisitions & Collection Highlights

Come discover the Museum's permanent collection in this new gallery space! This exhibition will change frequently as we highlight the newest pieces in the Museum's collection, as well as works significant to Utah's art history.

SMA Milestones and Memories

This exhibition on the lower level explores the history of the oldest art Museum in Utah.

Up Close and Far Away - Online Only

April 22, 2020 - April 1, 2021

This special online exhibition consists of submitted works from K-12 students across the state and their responses to COVID-19. Participate by viewing how Utah’s youth have coped with crisis and change.
