Film Series at The Rivoli Theater

Whether you're making your first short film or you're an experienced filmmaker, our Film Showcase Series celebrates local storytelling on the big screen. Throughout the year, we host a variety of themed showcases featuring everything from family-friendly shorts and student films to horror, music videos, commercials, documentaries, animation, and more. Submissions are free, filmmakers of all ages and experience levels are encouraged to participate, and many screenings include opportunities for creators to introduce their work and connect with the audience. Join us as we celebrate the creativity, talent, and diverse voices of our local filmmaking community.

Springville Art Festival - Film Celebration

SUBMISSIONS DUE: SATURDAY, AUGUST 22, 2026


Celebrate local creativity with an evening of family-friendly films presented as part of the Springville Art Festival. This showcase features short films, animation, documentaries, music videos, commercials, and other original works from local filmmakers of all ages and experience levels. Many filmmakers attend to introduce their films and share a little about their creative process.

Interested in submitting a film? Submissions are free and open to amateur, student, and professional filmmakers of all ages. Family-friendly films of any genre or style are welcome, including narrative, documentary, animation, experimental films, music videos, commercials, and more. 




Screamville - Halloween Film Fest

SHOWING: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24, 2026 | 7:00 PM

SUBMISSIONS DUE: THURSDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2026


Celebrate the spooky season with a night of locally made horror films. Screamville features two showcase blocks, one featuring PG and under horror films and another featuring PG-13 through R-rated horror. From psychological thrillers and monster movies to horror-comedy and experimental films, there's something for every horror fan. Costumes are encouraged, and filmmakers are invited to introduce their films before they screen.

Interested in submitting a film? Submissions are free and open to amateur, student, and professional filmmakers of all ages. Horror-themed films of any style are welcome, including narrative shorts, animation, music videos, commercials, experimental films, and more.




Beyond PG-13

SHOWING: APRIL? 2027

SUBMISSIONS DUE: 


Beyond PG-13 is a showcase of exceptional Utah filmmaking, featuring some of the strongest short films being created across the state. Rather than focusing on genre or rating, this event celebrates outstanding storytelling, creativity, and filmmaking craftsmanship. Audience members will experience a diverse collection of films and have the opportunity to hear from many of the filmmakers themselves.

Interested in submitting a film? Submissions are free and open to amateur, student, and professional filmmakers of all ages. Any genre, style, or rating is welcome. Films are selected based on overall quality, storytelling, originality, and technical execution.




Student Showcase

SHOWING: SATURDAY, MAY 15, 2027

SUBMISSIONS DUE: 


The Student Film Showcase celebrates the creativity and talent of student filmmakers. Featuring original films created by students, this event highlights everything from narrative films and documentaries to animation, music videos, dance films, and other creative video projects. Participating filmmakers are encouraged to attend and share their experiences with the audience.

Interested in submitting a film? Students and teachers are welcome to submit original student-created work. Projects should be produced specifically as films or video productions rather than simple recordings of live performances. Narrative films, documentaries, animation, music videos, experimental works, classroom projects, and other creative film-based productions are all encouraged.
