“Enduring Beauty: John Hafen and the Power of Art”
Come explore Springville’s newest exhibition and the first ever major retrospective of Utah-artist John Hafen, Enduring Beauty: John Hafen and the Power of Art. Join as we explore these questions and learn from each other through a tour of the exhibition, workshops, and hands-on artmaking. Dinner will be provided.

“Time Travel through Art: Making Personal, Interpersonal, and Historical Connections in Roots of Knowledge”
Join us at Utah Valley University's Roots of Knowledge where we will be showcasing our new field trip curriculum focused on making personal, interpersonal, and historical connections. This curriculum utilizes the stained-glass mural as an educational tool to explore the connections of knowledge, wisdom, and hope throughout history. Each window tells a story. Together, they reveal how humanity’s pursuit of knowledge is a shared journey—and how those stories can inspire students to reflect on their own growth, choices, and place in the world. Workshops will explore these ideas through mindfulness, artmaking, and historical research and reflection. A light meal will be provided.

“Gaze Into These Eyes”
Join us for Kimball Art Center's Evening for Educators, which will feature lessons related to our final 2025 exhibition, Gaze Into These Eyes. This powerful exhibition was created in collaboration with The Center for Art and Advocacy and presents primarily portraiture works by artists who have been directly impacted by the carceral system. Educators will attend two hands-on workshops that use multiple mediums to explore themes such as identity, resilience, justice, and community. Additionally, they will gain a deeper understanding of the ways that art has the ability to challenge systems, affirm humanity, and provide means for dialogue and healing.

“Exploding Native Inevitable”
Join us at NEHMA for an inspiring evening centered on contemporary Indigenous art through the exhibition Exploding Native Inevitable. Tyrell Tapaha, a Diné (Navajo) weaver and sixth-generation sheepherder, will lead the workshop, sharing his weaving techniques with participants.
Tapaha’s art is rooted in reciprocity with the land — from caring for sheep to using plants for dye, and respecting water, soil, and seasons. Teachers will explore how these practices reflect deep ecological knowledge and provide powerful ways to teach sustainability, culture, and creativity.
Enjoy hands-on artmaking, lesson ideas, and fresh ways to connect students with Indigenous perspectives and the natural world.

“Gates of Paradise: A Renaissance Icon”
Lorenzo Ghiberti famously earned a commission to create gilded bronze doors for the Florence Baptistery, a project that took 27 years to complete. The fifteenth-century doors became known as the “Gates of Paradise” after Michelangelo referred to them as such. The MOA has acquired plaster casts of the art historical icon, and they will be the focus of this Evening for Educators. Come see how this Renaissance tour de force can be used in your own cross-curricular teaching.
